Who is the nonprofit partner?
Existing formal groups doing health professional advocacy are reluctant to engage in electoral mobilization. On the other hand, typical electoral mobilization like phonebanking or canvassing is not tailored to the voice of the volunteer. Recognizing this gap, On Call for Democracy was founded in July 2018 and has had an energetic, rapid start with a large volunteer national team and many organizational partners.
What skills or interests do I need to do the project?
The Innovator must have PR/communications experience and a passion for spreading awareness of the health professional voter mobilization concept and On Call for Democracy’s work specifically. They will ideally have some existing media contacts, press campaign experience, and/or social media campaign skills or at least a willingness to learn and act on an accelerated timeline. The innovator may have experience/interest in the health profession, but it is not required.
What’s the project all about?
The Public relations coordinator will develop PR tools and plans and then work to implement them. This will generate further participant and organizer recruitment and spread awareness of health professional voter mobilization.
What are the project objectives and deliverables?
- Develop national and local press releases and plan for implementation
- Develop shareable social media materials
- Identify and engage media and social media leads to publicize
Who from the organization will provide me with support?
Andrew Goldstein, National Team Co-Organizer, will provide support on the project.
How long will the project take?
It is anticipated that the project will take 10-12 weeks.
Where will I complete the project?
The work can be done remotely.
